YKC IV: A Fine Dining Restaurant Inspired by the Yangtze River

Unique Dining Experience in Jingzhou, China

The 'Rivers bubble' concept brings the essence of the Yangtze River to life in YKC IV, a fine dining seafood restaurant located in the ancient city of Jingzhou, China. Designed by Plotcreative Interior Design Ltd, this restaurant offers a multi-perspective experience that reflects the changing perspectives found in masterpieces. With its harmonious combination of bubbles, bronze, marble, and wooden veneer, YKC IV creates a dining experience like no other.

The design of YKC IV revolves around the concept of bubbles, inspired by the Yangtze River. The dining area features ceiling lamps that go beyond expectations, resembling bubbles floating in the air. Bronze bubbles adorn the walls, while crystal balls extend the bubble theme as partitions. The hallway is transformed into a river, with translucent stone representing the riverbed and mirror ceilings and lamps abstracted into bubbles.

The private rooms in YKC IV offer two distinct experiences. The black-tone room features bubbles on a high-gloss white wall, with a bronze-line concentric circle serving as the focal point. Marble, wall lamps, and crystal lamps create a striking contrast against the focus wall. On the other hand, the bronze-tone room exudes an emperor's style, with a bronze-line concentric circle against a white backdrop. Oversized crystal lamps and bronze wall lighting patterns add to the regal ambiance.

The realization of this design involved the use of bubbles glass for lamps and panels in the dining area, effectively creating the illusion of the Yangtze River. Stainless steel was used to create concentric circles, not only in the dining room but also in the VIP area. 3D print technology was employed for the white panels, while stainless steel was utilized for the lightbox panels in the VIP area.

Spanning across 2500 square meters, YKC IV is a testament to the rich history and culture of Jingzhou. The design team, led by Plotcreative Interior Design Ltd, conducted extensive research on the city's history, drawing inspiration from the Yangtze River and its concentric circles. Overcoming the challenge of finding historical support for the design elements, YKC IV successfully captures the essence of Jingzhou's ancient cultural heritage.

YKC IV has been recognized for its exceptional design, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2018 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
